Start of the prep work..

Attended an admin briefing yesterday with Hubby for the USA detachment.. got alot of knowledge and tips from there.

This week, worked 1.5 days only as the rest of the days were spent at Alexandra Hospital and Paya Lebar Air Base (PLAB) Medical Centre for Medical and blood tests. Next week gonna spend another 2 days doing X-rays, more tests, and the final medical check-up to be certified "Good to go" for the detachment.

Drawing blood at the PLAB medical centre was not as bad as I expected, compared to the previous batches of wives had quite bad experiences with the NSFs drawing their blood. Mine and some of the wives this time around had quite a painless experience, thank God. Cos we requesed for a more skillful NSF to do it for us. But hubby, along with some of the other husbands, were not so lucky! :(

Our Dep dates has been brought forward to 31 Jul 09. Paper work, visa applications etc have started. We have also started hunting for stuff that we will need to buy and bring over. This weekend seems like the best weekend to get a new laptop and possibly gtet our TV first as well? Our previous laptop we bought from the IT show gave us a bit of problem. We have rtn the laptop to them and had our money refunded to us. Thus the search for a new one....

At the admin briefing yest, we were told that "99% of us will be going back there again many times as this F-15 project in Idaho is a 20-year contract." To actually hear this being said clearly just struck me. This won't be a one off 2-year trip for us. This could be a long term thingy, shuttling btw Sin and USA. If this is gonna be true for us, what about our house? Planning for a family? My Job?
